A Bug's Life

Today at work we had a swarm of bees! We were warned to be careful, so after work I went round to the back of the building to take a look. A couple of people were there, one in beekeeper gear, coaxing the swarm into a box. He had put the queen in there already; the bees were drowsy and happy to wriggle in after her with only a little herding from the smoker. He said they had been nesting in a hole in a tree, but the queen had fallen out and been unable to fly so the others had been swarming round her. It was odd to watch them make their way into the box - like watching lava flow uphill.
